Juneau Dental Patient Safety

Because Your Health is Our Priority

Appointment and Health Safety Measures

The health and safety of our team and patients is our top priority. Masks are welcome! Each patient room is equipped with state of the art air-flow system and air filters.

Please help keep all of us safe and healthy. Do not enter our office if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms. Please call and we will happily reschedule your appointments.

Sterilization and Disinfection Protocols

Our standard sterilization methods have been proven against all viruses and bacteria. We have always and will always follow strict guidelines put in place by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for sterilization and disinfection of all of our instruments, equipment, and surfaces.

Please know that all instruments that are re-used are first cleaned of any debris via an ultrasonic washing tank. They are then sterilized via steam sterilization that is approved by the CDC to sterilize all bacteria, viruses, or other organisms. All of our operatories are further disinfected between each patient with a disinfectant that is rated to kill COVID-19 along with all other viruses and bacteria.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and More

When you visit our dental office in Juneau, you’ll notice that the doctors and team members all wear overgowns that we change between patients, along with eye and facial protection. Behind-the-scenes, we have intentionally scheduled fewer patients in the day to allow for sufficient cleaning and disinfection of our operatories.

We previously used “open air” operators, but we had those closed off by glass barriers. This keeps our rooms full of wonderful natural light but prevents aerosols from escaping other operatories. We also have installed Surgically Clean Air brand Jade air purifying units in each operatory and in central locations throughout our office. These units have high volume air turnover and filter and destroy viruses. We also routinely fog our operatories with a safe, biodegradable and organic antiviral disinfectant.

As things continue to change, these regulations may have to be updated. Please know that no matter what, our entire team appreciates your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns about an upcoming appointment, please contact us for help.
